Samstar99, born Samuel Fernando Cuna on January 11, 1999, is a versatile artist excelling in Reality, Motivational, and Gospel Hip Hop. His unique musical style, blending Ambient, Rock, Hip Hop, and R&B, reflects his versatility as a rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Despite being born in the vibrant streets of Johannesburg, South Africa, to Mozambican parents, Samstar99's journey is marked by resilience and an unwavering commitment to his craft.
Facing personal tragedies, including the loss of his brother and father, as well as the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Samstar99's experiences have shaped his artistry. His relocation to Mozambique led to the formation of the rap group 99Fvmily and the establishment of 99Recordz.258, influencing a shift in his music towards introspection and spirituality.
On January 8, 2022, Samstar99 left an indelible mark on Mozambique's national television channel, TV Susesso, with a freestyle that deeply moved TV presenter Kamane Kamas. This pivotal moment was followed by the release of his second studio album, "Law Of Dharma," in June 2022, and the single and music video, "O Que Vale," in January 2023, gaining widespread acclaim.
May 2023 saw Samstar99 signing a distribution and publishing contract with VerseOne Distribution, paving the way for the release of his single "On The Run" on June 30, 2023, accompanied by an official music video released on December 1, 2023.

Unlike his post music, in which he spoke of luxury, money, women and things that weren't related to his personal life, he finally decided to add his personal story into his music. Here Samstar99 tells us a short story of the people he lost which were very close to him. He says that he feels like he's been running away from demons.
