Samstar99 (born Samuel Fernando Cuna on January 11, 1999) is a South African-born, Mozambican-rooted hip hop artist whose music blends reality rap, motivation, and gospel influence into a style he calls RoChrist (Rock Christ).

 

Raised in Johannesburg’s La Rochelle, Samstar99 grew up surrounded by challenges that shaped both his character and his artistry. In 2021, he moved to Mozambique, reconnecting with his roots and launching a new chapter in his journey. His lyrics reflect resilience, faith, and the realities of life — speaking to the streets, the dreamers, and anyone fighting through struggle.

 

In Mozambique, he co-founded 99Fvmily and established his own label, 99Recordz.258, solidifying his role as both an artist and a leader in his community. His rise gained national attention in 2022 with a moving freestyle on TV Sussesso, a performance that revealed the depth of his artistry to a wider audience.

 

In 2025, Samstar99 released the EP Before The Rock, a raw and powerful prelude to his upcoming full-length album RoChrist — a project that will define his sound and message as one of faith, truth, and motivation.
